Donald J. Savoie was born in Saint-Maurice in 1947. He is a university professor and an expert in public administration. He wrote forty-seven books and 200 articles in refereed journals and collections during his career. In 1983, he was the founder of the Canadian Institute for Research on Regional Development at l’Université de Moncton.
Donald J. Savoie was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2013.
